Bob is an artist in fiberglass and structures, as well as the designer
of the Spinfin
pedal drive unit. He did a huge amount of fabrication work on
Microship Wordplay (that's why
it's so pretty), and has a lifelong history of involvement in
human-powered vehicles.
Bob's Lambordinghy is a Pygmy
Kayak kit Queen Charlotte 19 with opened cockpit. She has a center
well for the pedal drive arranged for easy prop raising. The
optional outriggers double as rudders, and swing away for docking.
The boat is mostly self-constructed with help from Thom Rutley for
initial assembly and Mark Coulter for maintenance and improvements.
