Much of the control system development in the
Microship was accomplished with the aid of engineering students at the
University of California, San Diego. From 1993 to 1995, we had
approximately 10 electrical and computer engineering seniors per
quarter, working in teams on FORTH-based projects (ECE-190B and
ECE-167). We also had a few Mechanical Engineering students from the
Ames 156B class, and the occasional independent study (199). In
addition, we had extensive help from UCSD students who have volunteered
for the sake of independent learning and the opportunity to gain
hands-on experience. Detailed discussion of their work can be found in
